Psychologists are the most brainwashed people on the planet. They don't even learn psychology, they learn how to avoid it. The first thing psychology students should do is sit down and talk about their parents and childhood, how it affected them and how it might affect others, because that's the source of all mental problems. But the subject almost never raised and they learn crap instead. You can see here how they gloss over the very mechanism they are supposed to be describing, "fear extinction". Why would they do that if it truly is the key to freeing your mind from obsessions and self destructive patterns? How does it work? What is involved? They don't tell us. Does it work for long? Obviously not. They don't understand fear at all, that it is locked inside of us by traumatic experience, and it won't just disappear with a few cognitive/behavioral tricks. You don't break your programming that easy.
