Scientists tend to ignore phenomena such as NDEs because of their deep-rooted confirmation biases (the tendency to search for and favour information in a way that confirms one’s pre-existing beliefs or hypotheses). So, no matter what evidence they are presented with – they will deny it.

Even if it is chemical change that is happening in the brain at that time of someone experiencing NDEs, one cannot deny their subjective experiences just because of chemicals. For example when someone feels fearful as a result of seeing a spider, one doesn’t deny the experience just because there are molecular reactions happening in their brains!

This is the same for reincarnation research (as well as research directed at psi-phenomena) where there is very good research evidence (I happened to come across some videos of the ‘UVA Division of Perceptual Studies’ - University of Virginia).
